Our core mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children and meet PTA’s objectives:
Promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, places of worship, and throughout the community.
Raise the standards of home life.
Advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth.
Promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth.
Engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of all children and youth.
Advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding.
The John Adams Elementary School PTA supports the following programs and events:
- Academic programs which includes Spelling Bee, Science Fair, Reflections (City-wide Art, Writing, Poetry and Photography competition) and Summer Reading.
- Community Engagement which includes Hispanic Heritage, African American Heritage, International Night, Family Fun Night and Career Day.
- School Support which includes 5th grade promotion, 4th grade swimming program and clothing supply for nurse office.
- Free of cost to students After-school Program new this school year which includes Yoga for Kids and 4-H Youth Development “The Power of Wind” grades 4-5 and “Science Fun with Kitchen Chemistry / Physics” Grades 3-5.
